Lausanne, Switzerland – 28 March 2023 – iWedia S.A, a world-class provider of software solutions for connected TV devices, today announced that INNOPIA, a leading provider of media streaming products to international Telcos and Pay TV operators, has deployed iWedia’s Android TV Custom Launcher in its Set Top Boxes (STBs) to its first customer in India – Thamizhaga Cable TV Communication Limited (TCCL).
The iWedia Android TV Custom Launcher is a white-label solution which features STAGE – a modern User Interface (UI) with multiscreen capability over all platforms. STAGE is compliant with Google’s operator tier program and easily brandable and skinable for quick deployment.
By leveraging STAGE, INNOPIA can provide STBs to TCCL which enables the operator to easily customise and scale out the number of Value-Added Services (VAS) it launches much more quickly and reliably. This will prove invaluable for the rapidly growing Indian cable operator, as it plans to launch IP services to its customers over the course of the year. TCCL’s set top boxes have been prepared by INNOPIA and, following certification from Android, they will be delivered to TCCL subscribers by this June, at the very latest.
STAGE can scale to the needs of operators from OTT to Hybrid Functionality. Its pre-installed Value-Added Services (VAS), which include third party OTT integration, targeted advertising, video overlays, IoT and smart home features and personalisation. All this allows operators to drive greater value for customers and enjoy enhanced revenues. This is beneficial to any operator looking to rapidly get services into the market, with their own brand look and feel, but also to remain compliant.
Thanks to iWedia’s fast launch program, INNOPIA can offer operator customers the best time to market for their products – with pre-defined product categories, full customisation, middleware abstractions, a white label version for more rapid deployment and a bespoke version for more specific product launches. With pre-integrated and continuous seamless support through SLAs, iWedia’s fast launch program is the only way for operators to efficiently accelerate market deployment.
Hans-Jürgen Desor, CEO, iWedia, said: “We are very pleased to be collaborating with INNOPIA to help them to enable TCCL to expand its services to customers rapidly, efficiently and cost-effectively. With our help, Innopia’s STBs will allow TCCL to provide much greater value to its customers and unlock new revenue streams – by getting new products into the marketplace in record time.”
Dr. Hee Won Park, President, INNOPIA, said: “Collaborating with iWedia enables us to allow operator customers, such as TCCL, to deliver a range of innovative features to end users, via their digital devices, which will drive a great deal of commercial benefits.”
Nagamanickam, CEO, TCCL, said: “We have very ambitious plans this year, and by working with partners like INNOPIA and iWedia, we have access to technology and solutions that can enable us to realise those goals, by rapidly launching new, innovative and sticky VAS to our growing subscriber base.”
