Lausanne, Switzerland – 13 September 2023 – iWedia, a provider of software components and solutions for TV devices for major service operators and consumer electronics manufacturers, will present its new product, Diagnostics, for the first time on Stand 5.F80 at IBC2023. The new solution is designed to assess the overall health of fleets of devices such as set top boxes and TVs, diagnosing issues before they become large-scale problems. Currently compatible with Android TV, Tizen and webOS devices, it is believed to be the only specialised diagnostics solution that holistically addresses issues of device health.
Hans-Jürgen Desor, CEO, iWedia, said, “iWedia’s vast experience in system integration for our operator customers has given us a unique viewpoint into system-level functionalities and platform-level support, and we have recognised that our customers struggle to access information about the stability and quality of their fleets of devices. With the development of Diagnostics, our customers can now have an overview of their entire fleet, enabling them to monitor devices and identify and fix issues in a timely way, preventing major customer service problems.”
This unique solution utilises some of the core technologies from Oblo Living, iWedia’s sister company, which specialises in smart home and IOT solutions. Its market-proven end-to-end technology enables communication between edge devices and the Cloud, on top of which iWedia has created the Diagnostics solution. Diagnostics is pre-integrated with system level capabilities; it analyses logs for issues such as buffering and crashing, and tests functionality such as CPU usage, memory and stability. It packages this data and sends it to the Cloud for processing; the information is presented in a user-friendly dashboard, giving an overview of the health of the fleet of devices and highlighting diagnoses of any issues.
Diagnostics can be used for pro-active maintenance, such as checking for issues in the device fleet after a software update, as well as for reactive maintenance where an issue might occur in the field with a group of devices or an individual device. Users are notified on the dashboard about the problem, and they can quickly pull logs and other information from the affected devices in order to troubleshoot and find the root cause of the problem. They can then react quickly to prepare and deploy fixes.
Diagnostics will be available for demonstration on Stand 5.F80, together with a range of iWedia’s leading solutions for TV devices.Visitors can book a meeting at the show by clicking here.
