iWedia Launches Next Generation Android TV STB for NTT DOCOMO, Japan’s Broadcast and IPTV Market
24/09/2025Lausanne, Switzerland – September 9, 2025 – iWedia, a leading provider of software solutions for connected TV devices, today announced the launch of Fluenta, UI/UX framework that will be unveiled at IBC 2025 tradeshow in Amsterdam. Fluenta is designed to accelerate the deployment of custom OTT and hybrid TV applications across mobile, web, set-top boxes, and smart TVs. By offering a ready-made, cross-device user interface platform, iWedia aims to reduce development time, project cost, and decrease complexity for service providers that wish to bring new TV platforms to market.
This launch aligns with iWedia’s strategic vision to equip operators with agile, design-driven tools at a time of high demand for personalized, seamless multi-screen viewing experiences. This allows operators to be in the driver’s seat of their UI/UX, combining the speed of a pre-built solution with the flexibility of a custom one. The design-token mechanism and configuration tooling allow deep customization of the look and feel (so each deployment can be unique to the operator’s brand), while the underlying codebase is robust and shared – yielding both agility and reliability. Importantly, Fluenta’s API-first design also facilitates front-end/back-end orchestration, which is increasingly vital as TV services become more data-driven and personalized.
Beyond the framework itself, Fluenta is delivered as a managed suite combining UX, engineering, CMS, and QA — ensuring operators not only launch quickly but can also evolve their platforms with personalized, data-driven experiences at scale.
Its architecture introduces several technical differentiators that set it apart from traditional app development approaches:
- Design-Token Theming: Centralized tokens ensure consistent branding and fast localization across all platforms.
- Reusable UI Components: Pre-built, component-driven elements deliver uniform UX and reduce design debt.
- API Integration & Test Hooks: REST APIs enable dynamic data-driven UIs and regression-free updates.
- Cross-Platform Scalability: One codebase runs seamlessly on web, mobile, smart TVs, and operator STBs.
- Turnkey OTT Readiness: Built-in support for playback, DRM, monetization, analytics, and CMS integration.
“As media consumption becomes increasingly multi-screen and personalized, service providers need agile tools to keep the pace,” said Hans-Jürgen Desor, CEO of iWedia. “With Fluenta, we empower our clients to design and deploy unique TV experiences across all devices faster than ever – without the usual cost and complexity. This framework is about giving operators full control of their apps at a moment when owning the user experience is absolutely critical.”
iWedia is showcasing Fluenta framework in action with live demo at IBC 2025, Hall 5, Booth D.73 of the RAI Amsterdam. Visitors will see how a Fluenta-powered application can seamlessly run across different screens and how its design editing tools enable on-the-fly UI changes.
