DVB Engines and Applications
This DVB-related line of product is based on Comedia, a robust and field-proven DVB/PVR engine.
Comedia may me embedded within various devices (set-top boxes, integrated digital TV sets, personal video recorders, etc.), deployed over various networks (cable, satellite, terrestrial), integrated with various security solutions (embedded Conditional Access Systems, DVB-CIv1, CI Plus), and ported on top of various chipsets (STMicroelectronics, Trident/NXP, etc.).
Comedia comes with a companion application development environment (dubbed Maestro) that includes a WYSIWIG authoring tool.
The diagram below gives an overview of the architecture of the product line.

Maestro: the Companion Toolkit for Defining the Device User Interfaces (UIs)
Maestro gathers a set of tools that allow to develop the UIs of the device built-in applications.
As depicted in the diagram, Maestro is made of three components:
- Maestro Composer, a WYSIWIG, easy-to-use, desktop-based authoring tool that uses an XML format to store the applications
- Maestro Generator, a translation tool that transforms the XML format into a binary format ready for downflashing the device
- Maestro Player, an application engine that executes and renders the applications on the target device
