From November 6 to 8, an Android TV Summit was held for the first time in Bangkok, focusing on the Asia, Pacific and Oceania region (APAC). iWedia’s marketing & sales team attended the event and together with Google’s team met numerous representatives of telecommunication operators, STB manufacturers and SoC vendors.
In the series of presentations organized by Google in the first two days of the Summit, iWedia was mentioned several times as a reference for its state-of-the-art software products and architecture, as a reliable partner with numerous deployments, and was recommended by Google for the integration of Android TV based terminals.
This made us remember the thorny road we followed since the initial ports of Android OS to TV chips, through the first demos in 2010, to a series of successful projects eventually leading to the deployment of millions of Android TV STBs across Europe today. The Bangkok Summit definitely showed that Android as the OS for TV devices has moved from an alternative to a mainstream technology.
Our colleague Krsto Lazić participated in the panel session on Pay TV and Android TV. He stressed the fact that, leveraging its accumulated knowledge and references, iWedia has uniquely positioned itself as an independent player, leader in the Android TV world for the provision of software products and associated software integration services.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed in preparation of the event and to the attendees we had the chance to meet and discuss with.
See you at the next Android TV summit…
