At CES 2013 MIPS announces number of new collaborations, including those with iWedia, "a leading provider of integrated software solutions for television, including IP and related integration services".

As one of their technology highlights MIPS posits "iWedia's Android4TV solution, an open extension to the Android™ framework that natively integrates DTV services for European consumer electronics, enabling full end-user experience of traditional Digital Video Broadcast (DVB) services such as TTX, EPG, MHEG, HbbTV and CI+; MIPS will demonstrate interactive functionality such as second-screen related content viewing, channel previews, content-aware search capabilities and more".

Lausanne, Switzerland – iWedia today announced that it has concluded an agreement with Google to provide iWedia integration services to Google partners wishing to deploy the Google TV platform in their products. iWedia engineers have been certified by Google and are fully trained to be capable of integrating Google TV into a wide range of consumer electronic devices (CE devices).

iWedia is releasing a Turnkey Software Solution (TKSS) for South African DTT Set-Top Box market based on Teatro-2.0 TKSS for DVB STB adapted to fulfill the South African DTT specifications and pre-integrated with the security solution chosen by South Africa.

South African Teatro-2 TKSS is comprised of:

• A STB end-user application following SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) guidelines
• A DVB-T2 stack - Comedia system layer compliant with the South African broadcast specification - South African National Standard (SANS) 862:2012 (Edition 2)
• An MHEG-5 interactive engine compliant with the MHEG-5 profile for South Africa (2.0, 31 October 2011)

The TKSS is chipset agnostic.
