Alongside its products, iWedia delivers top-notch, efficient, and scalable software integration services performed by an experienced team used to enable rapid deployments of high volume Consumer Electronics devices.
The company was founded in the French city of Rennes with a vision to produce software solutions for digital TV. iWedia has developed DVB middleware and MHEG software stacks which have been deployed in millions of Set-Top box units across Europe.
SmarDTV decided to expand its business towards DTV devices manufacturing and made a strategic decision to acquire iWedia.
RT-RK, a Serbian company which profiled itself in high quality embedded software development services, especially in the DTV business, has started cooperation with SmarDTV, a Swiss-based affiliate of Nagra Kudelski Group and a world leader in CAM.
After years of successful cooperation, in 2011, SmarDTV and RT-RK joined forces and re-launched iWedia; SmarDTV bringing DVB middleware, CI Plus host and MHEG software stacks, and RTRK bringing connectivity IPs like HbbTV and DLNA, expertise in digital TV and Android, and the strength of an engineering pool of more than 350.
